Not much was expected of the University of Wisconsin men's basketball team this season . At least one media outlet had the Badgers finishing seventh in the Big Ten. Wisconsin proceded to put together a season where they not only contended for the conference championship, but also earned a spot in the NCAA Tournament for the ninth straight year.
Despite this, there's a feeling of disappointment that Wisconsin failed to reach the Sweet 16. My how times have changed. Fifteen years ago, Badger fans could only dream of the success Wisconsin now enjoys. The disappointment is a good thing. It means expectations for the Badgers program have been raised tremendously.
