Winneconne goes for first title

Where: Kohl Center, Madison

* Winneconne (25-3) vs. New Berlin Eisenhower (25-2): Winneconne placed second in the Eastern Valley Conference at 15-3 and will be playing for their first-ever state title in girls’ basketball. The Wolves are led in scoring by 5-10 senior forward Kathryn Koeck at 13.9 ppg. and 5-7 senior guard/forward Maggie Peerenboom at 12.4 ppg. Winneconne is coming off of a 31-30 state semifinal win over Monroe on Friday.

New Berlin Eisenhower placed first in the Woodland-Black with a 16-1 record. The Lions also are competing at the state tournament for the first time. Eisenhower is led in scoring by 6-1 junior forward Anna Hahn at 14 ppg. and 5-9 sophomore guard Nicole Bauman at 11.2 ppg. The Lions advanced with a 40-38 win over Altoona in Friday’s sectional semifinal.
